I was just thinking about the way I've compared myself to others in the past: to others' successes, lifestyle, wealth, happiness and such, and how daft that is.

In any competition, all one ever has to be concerned with is the doing of the job, and competition with oneself. To compare oneself with others is the kiss of death. ALL you ever have to do to be good at something is to be good at it. Be interested in it, stick at it, polish it, focus on it, and do your job well. That's got to be what it's about.

For me, finding niches is what it's about.

Doing my wedding video business is enabling me to understand things about business that's really interesting. I can apply what I'm learning from this business to any other business, or any other project that I care to get myself involved with.

I know that as I progress with this business I get better at it. My product gets more polished, the materials I use get better, and I get better, generally, with what I do.

So these new skills I'm applying to the creation of my own wealth, and to the life I'm manifesting now.

By keeping a good mind set - a good, focussed attitude - I stay on course for manifesting all the things in my life that I want for myself.

Cringing with embarrassment

Right now I'm cringing with embarrassment, because I suddenly became aware of people reading these blogs, and I felt extremely vulnerable.

Having said that, what exactly is a sense of vulnerability, but the old inner voices having their say? A sense of vulnerability is only an illusion, just as confidence is.

Right now I'm sitting on the deck of a beach bar/restaurant in Port Aransas, Texas, and mulling over stuff, as usual.

Again, I'm aware of the fact that each moment is a potential fresh start; every moment is an opportunity to reset my compasses, set my direction, navigate a little closer to the direction I want to go.

Again, it's all about focus. What I focus on: whether it's stuff, work, values etc, is what I allow to occupy my mind. What I encourage my imagination to visualize is what I attract to me.

And the abysmal sense of vulnerability is really just those old feelings coming to the surface again. But alongside them is my choice: I don't need to listen to them, let alone obey them.

Yes, I have been living the proverbial "interesting life" because that's what I chose to do.

Now I can make new choices. Daily, I can make new choices.

I guess a question I might ask myself, though, is why I want the entire world to witness my turmoil? Why do I seem to want the entire world to study my process? Isn't it rather like being some kind of one man reality TV show?

Maybe so.

But that's what it's like being an advanced exhibitionist, I suppose...

And anyway, all actors are exhibitionists. It's necessary.

OK.

Now I've gone on about my life a lot, either publicly on this and other blogs, or privately in my own diaries and such, but let's have a look at making some concrete, real changes in my life for the better.

I realise that beliefs do create reality. For example, if I were to not believe that I could ever get another job again, I'd completely give up all attempts, and then my beliefs would be confirmed. Likewise, if I believed I could and would make thirty million dollars from my relatively light efforts, I'd get on with it, because I know it would be worth the effort.

My big stumbling block has been not being happy with mediocrity, I think. And that's what's led me to spectacular failure. I've not been interested in "just being enough" or some kind of second rate act. It's probably my ego that's been responsible for that, but it's true. I've always loathed the idea of not being exceptional, and all it's made me is exceptionally unexceptional.

BUT I've learned a lot along the way, with my spectacular failure.

I mean, let's look at the envy I've had of others: I've been spectacularly envious of the peers I was at drama school, for example, for their success. Well, when I say "peers" I really mean one - Leslie Grantham, who became hugely successful as an actor in the soap opera "Eastenders" and other stuff. I've never been envious of his talent, however - I think he's a wooden, one dimensional character and a stilted, uninteresting person to watch. He has no grace, a lousy voice, and no real presence at all. On top of that, he's pretentious, affected and, let's face it, a liar and a murderer.

So why should I have been envious?

I suppose I was not so much envious as angry at the injustice of life. He's a crap actor, yes. But was a crap, famous actor. And, as a famous actor, he had choice in what he did. And that's where my envy has been. That and the stuff he's acquired. The stuff, the money, the family, and all that.

I, on the other hand, became a bitter and lonely, desperate and broken man. Not remotely famous, I took "the interesting path" of doing weird stuff like going to America with a fistful of dollars and living an unconventional life in my own way.

But now I want some change to occur. And when I mean "change" I mean I want - first of all - for a considerable increase in income, but also that it comes from my working as an actor. I want to be a working, professional actor again. Well, as I am actually that already, I should amend that to read " a consistently working professional actor".

Part of getting to that means my focussing my thoughts. And letting go of the past. And accepting my self. And really embracing the laws of metaphysics and psychology, and making it all happen.

I posted this, because it strikes me that JK Rowling really is phenomenally successful because she has such passion for what she does. Watching her on TV last night, I saw someone who's absolutely connected to creativity, and is someone who really isn't doing what she's doing for the huge amounts of money she gets, but for the love of what she does. This is a woman so dedicated, so motivated by love and passion for her craft, that she achieves success and material gain as a secondary thing.

What's more, she still engages with such a profound sense of fun in what she does.

I think if anyone has mastered the art of manifestation, it's her.

Some news just came in today.

The commercial which I shot a month or so ago, which was going to be bringing in lots of lovely money over the coming year, isn't now, apparently. I was cut from the final edit, so that means the expected residuals won't now, it seems, happen. Of course I could be reinserted into the ad, but I shouldn't hold my hopes up.

Now, traditionally I might have seen that as some kind of "message from the universe" that I'm not, as I've been asserting, a money magnet after all. And that, of course, would send me into a place of depression and lethargy, and a sense of gloom and doom.

But now I don't see things that way. All that's happened is that I was cut from a commercial that I got in the first place because I was good. It may well have been an error on their part to cut me, but it's certainly not something I'm taking personally.

I know that whilst I keep up a strong belief in myself and my attraction of money, then I do actually attract it, because I change the energetic patterns of my mind and body. That may sound a bit "woo woo" but I really think that's how it works. We all have subtle energy stuff going on and, as we're all linked to each other anyway, what happens is that certain rather amazing synchronicities occur all the time.

It wasn't a coincidence that I was doing stuff on the phone with my mother relating to money as this was happening - the email coming from my agent.

So on the whole, I actually feel rather good about this event, because it convinces me all the more that I really AM a money magnet, and that something better is on its way to me, probably right now.

It really does come down to faith, and courage, and how you handle fear. It's psychology, for sure: metaphysics is all about the mind.

So. I am a money magnet. Money comes to me easily. I attract money, and I attract exciting, fun work that pays very well.

There are more ads to come, just as there are more really good acting jobs in film and video, that will reach all parts of the world and pay me lots of money.

These things I'm certain of. I have the money now. It's all very easy, because I've engaged the metaphysical processes whereby I receive lots of money in comparison to the kind of money I've received in the past.

I AM a money magnet because I've decided I am.

Mark my words: I have this manifestation thing down now. It works!

And it seems I'm back on the "wanting to be rich" kick. But the truth is that poverty won't make me a better person any more than sadness would.

Wealth is just a tool that one can use for good or for bad. As long as I have it in perspective, and don't see wealth as some kind of competition, or as a goal in itself, then I'm OK with it. It's better to have money and power than not.

Ask anyone.

And besides, it's all relative. I'm already wealthy.

Self esteem thoughts

So much of mental health comes down to self esteem, and self esteem is a spiritual thing. I know this. And it's been said by so many. With self esteem is empowerment, and the lack of need to be liked or approved of by others. Self esteem is just where it's at, absolutely, because then you're independent of anyone else's opinion; all the while having an inner voice of approval and encouragement. At the end of the day, why not listen to one's own, inner voice, rather than the voice of another? Why empower them? To do so is to imagine that others have greater discernment, greater insight, which is an absurd notion.

This morning, I wrote the following as soon as I aw0ke. It had been going through my mind in my half sleep:

I will not let the low self esteem of my parents, siblings, peers, teahcers, family and others affect me any more.

They are in the past, and their low self esteem affected me way long enough. I let go of them and, by recognising the illusion of their low self esteem upon me, I let go of the illusions of my own low esteem, and now choose HIGH self esteem.

I don't need friends who have low self esteem. I just don't need them, whether it's so that I feel better surrounded by their neediness, or whether it's so they can manipulate me with their enabling.

Self esteem is innate, undeniable, and independent of anyone else's opinion. It cannot be diminished by criticism nor increased by praise.

And what does all the have to do with manifesting? Well, how will I be able to receive and accept stuff if I don't feel I deserve it? How will I be able to stay up and confident and happy if I feel low and inferior and worthless, and dependent on others' opinions of me?

That's utterly silly.

And so I choose high self esteem. I mean, who can be happy and successful, healthy and wise without it?

So, two of my fundamental needs - fundamental issues on my wish board - are met. A fit, correct weight and healthier, committed lifestyle, and high self esteem.

That's very important stuff, and I congratulate myself for finding it.

Goal achieved!

Well, I should be really proud of myself, and thankful, that I have achieved one of the most important goals on my wish board, and that's that I've got my weight down to under 190lbs

That was, I realise, one of the most important goals of all, because it's one of the keys of good health to be a good weight. So now I'm a good weight, and a weight I haven't been in probably more than five years. When I get down to 180 lbs, and I'm on the way, I'll be at a weight I won't have been at for probably 20 years.

That's damn good going, because it means I have no "middle age spread" and I'm more attractive, fitter, have more vitality, am sexier, and a lot of things.

So bravo, Moi!

And bravo to me for getting the Esther's Follies recall. And bravo for me for not being attached to whether I get the job or not. And bravo to me for releasing old patterns of thought, and therefore understanding the metaphysical laws that much better.

Epiphany

I posted this same post in my "Making a movie" blog. It seemed appropriate, as I felt as though I slipped a little on the positivity front, and let bad habits come back just for a bit. But I had a little epiphany, and here it is:

I've been feeling a bit down today, because of stuff. Part of it is that I want inspiration to be here, and be engrossed in something like this movie, but you just can't force it. You can only coax such things. But I'm aware that the project has slowed down in recent weeks.

I just went outside to take my neighbour's dog for a walk, and I felt like Phil Connors did when he was really depressed in "Groundhog Day". I'd been dwelling on the fact that the woman I was in love with wasn't in my life, and that she didn't want me. I'd been waiting for her to IM me as my messenger was up, she was online, but I wasn't going to make the move. I was playing a power thing, because I didn't like the way she'd treated me. I'd ended the thing, but like a fool I slipped back into wanting her.

So I had a little think about a couple of films I've seen recently. One was The Bridge, which is actually a documentary about suicides. The crew set up a camera on The Golden Gate Bridge for a year and filmed all the jumpers. A lot of people kill themselves by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, apparently.

One of the characters was a guy named Gene (they interview family and friends, who talk about the suicides). Gene had spent a lot of time online, trying to find love, and had obviously obsessed over a number of people, looking for love outside of himself.

And then I just figured, as I put the two films together - Groundhog Day and The Bridge - and I realised I've been doing the same thing. And is it any wonder that I was feeling depressed, having given my power away like that?

I've been watching The Secret - another non-fiction film - and it's been harking on similar things. They emphasize being appreciative of what one already has, and just enjoying life, and not chasing love, as Phil Connors discovered after much heartache and depression. And I realise that's exactly what I have to do, as well.

My sister called me today, crying and depressed, and also angry and bitter, and pouring scorn at me, as though I was somehow responsible for her feelings, us both being in our fifties now. It baffles me that someone thinks that just because you were born of the same parents you have some right to call whenever you want, and that person will listen to you even if you're being insulted when they're drunk.

Now that's beside the point, at least on this blog, except that I did realise that a lot of what I was going through, and what I was thinking, and the little epiphanies I was having as I was walking the dog, might actually be nice little moments in a film. So there's screenplay material there.

And it's funny, because the screenwriting book I'd been reading shortly before I met Julia had suggested having relationships and living "real life", as they - relationships - are naturally an endless source of material for any artist, whether he's a writer or not.

So one thing at least can be taken from the short relationship with Julia, and that's that I have to go back to doing what I enjoy - art and writing and acting and all of it - regardless of having some relationship. Women and relationships are the cherry on the top of living, not the cake itself. And they're only ever attracted to men who have passion about their own lives.

So no more hanging on to waiting for love from outside. I can imagine that's what my sister's doing, even by calling me. Just giving her love to her father, and demanding it from me at the same time. Because she, like Phil Connors, has no real passion for herself, and her own life.

It's funny, because when I'm absorbed in something I'm a different person. That's when I come alive. But that stands to reason, doesn't it?

It's odd that Julia should have come round to my place the day I was shooting the last film - The Alternate. She brought back Champagne that I'd taken to hers for her birthday. I wonder if she wanted to see me, rather than just bring the poo back? I guess I'll never know. Either she knew I was filming and wanted to bring it back when I was out, or she brought it back as an excuse to see me. Or she just brought it back for bringing it back's sake.

But I don't know, and I won't obsess about it. But again, that does make for an interesting subject - obsession. Maybe I should make a film about obsession.

Hmmmm....now there's an idea! I mean, what is obsession if it isn't giving your power away, and not getting on with your own life? I have some great obsession stories. I was obsessed with some woman a few years back and it went on for years. Had it in my head that "she was the one" as a result of a magic spell done for my by some nutty witch. Talk about giving your power away! Could there by a worse case of it? Thinking that one's destiny is tied up by all manner of bullshit?

But again...interesting stuff for a screenplay.

The odd crap I've been through and thought is pretty common for a lot of people, I think. That's what makes it good subject-matter for films. I'll have to get on with this thing, methinks...

But thanks to The Secret, The Bridge, and Groundhog Day for reminding me of some important priorities. Movies - good, thought provoking movies - play an important part in our lives.

THERE is a thinking stuff from which all things are made

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.

A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.

In order to receive his own when it shall come to him, man must be active; and this activity can only consist in more than filling his present place. He must keep in mind the Purpose to get rich through the realization of his mental image. And he must do, every day, all that can be done that day, taking care to do each act in a successful manner. Current wish board

This is my current wish board. Slight adjustments, a few specific, detailed documents and so on. There's sex and love and money - three things immediately that I was taught to be ashamed of. Then there are possessions, power and America - three more thing loaded with guilt and shame and embarrassment by those who choose not to reach out for the "sour" grapes. I'm not ashamed of living in America. No, there are some things I miss about Europe, but America has brought a lot to the table in the world, regardless of what some will say or think.

I've achieved another of the objectives! My weight is now at 190lbs, which I haven't been for more than five years. Next, I get abs like never before.

I realised how much fun this all is. It's certainly tapped into my inner child, and he's thoroughly enjoying it. It's play in one of its most basic forms - engaging my imagination, and setting me up to be really clear about what I want.

I'll admit that it's brought up the old belief systems, and I'm aware there's a process of letting go of them, so that my clarity of purpose, self acceptance, high self esteem and all the other components of self love allows the universe's abundance into my life.

I'm very aware of certain old voices that would have made fun of these kinds of things, and these kinds of beliefs. People in my past who would have tried to ridicule me for such things. Well, I now declare myself free of those people and their cynicism, doubt, negativity and pessimism. I know that it's all about beliefs, and I know beliefs can be my friends and allies, rather than enemies.

My beliefs are now my friends.

What's fun, too, is to understand that my current reality is only a product of my past thinking and, as Thomas Troward put it, principle is not bound by precedent. Looking at what I have now, at this very moment, is what I was - in that it's what I used to think, and it's the product of that thinking. So long as my thinking remains good and clear and positive, and I remain grateful, and do all the other things in The Secret - or improves even further - then I'm set.

But I am set, I know. And it's all very exciting.

This is the King James bible version of the classic metaphysical belief/prayer. Belief really is where it's at, and what's belief if it isn't faith? I've gained a much greater belief in some aspects of the bible, and its talk of God. I rejected God for the same reasons that many people do: the bible isn't entirely consistent in its wisdom.

But this bit of metaphysical insight is a gem.

"If you can't control your emotional state, then you must be addicted to it." - What the Bleep.

But I am The Master of My Thoughts! And this means I'm the master of my thoughts. My conscious mind is in congruence with my subconscious mind!

This is an interesting point. It means that one of the challenges with changing habits is to understand that there are addictions to the drugs that are produced by the hypothalamus. And that addictive behaviours are caused by a combination of neural pathways in the brain.

The good news is that feelings can be reinterpreted, and certain combinations of neural pathways can be changed, resulting not only in different beliefs, but different views of reality and different - good - feelings.

This leads to new, positive habits, and new "positive addictions".

We are attracted to each other at our common level of woundedness and our common level of health.

What does this mean?

For example, Jackson, a very attractive man in his early 50s, had been married three times and had been in many relationships. He consulted with me because he was tired of going from relationship to relationship. He wanted a long-term relationship.

"Even though each relationship seems to be very different than the last one, in the end they all turn out to be the same."

Jackson grew up with an angry father and a mother who, on the surface, pretended that everything was okay, but was always pulling on Jackson to make her feel loved. Not surprisingly, Jackson consistently picked women who looked all together but who were really needy. He was mystified as to why he kept picking the same kind of woman.

Through his inner work with me, Jackson discovered the deep level of loneliness he had felt with his mother. While she was a beautiful woman on the outside, on the inside she was empty and needy. He discovered that he had been drawn to women who were just like his mother, and then, with his criticism and controlling behavior, tried to get them to connect with him. His mission with each woman he met was to find a way to heal the woman so he would not be lonely with her. More than wanting connection with a woman, he wanted CONTROL over the connection - which is not possible. In each relationship he ended up withdrawing when his control attempts didn't work.

As long as Jackson wanted control over connection, he would be attracted to disconnected and needy women. Once he fully accepted his lack of control over whether or not a woman connected with him, he found himself attracted to an open and loving woman - a woman who connects to him because that is who she is.

Jackson was originally attracted to women who were at his level of woundedness. After he did his inner work, he became attracted to a woman at his level of health.

If you are a caretaker, addicted to fixing others while ignoring yourself, it is likely that you find yourself attracted to takers - self-centered people who want others to take care of them.

If you are an angry, controlling person, it is likely that you are attracted to people who easily give themselves up, or to people who are very resistant.

If you are an empty person, it is likely that you are attracted to a vibrant caretaking person.

And so on.

On the other hand, if you do your inner work, healing your low self-esteem, your need to control, your resistance, your addictions to substances and processes, your fear of rejection and your fear of engulfment, and you discover how to take loving care of yourself, you will find yourself only attracted to loving, kind and secure people.

Leaving a relationship - other than an abusive relationship - before discovering the inner fears and beliefs that led you to the relationship in the first place, is essentially a waste of time. You will continue to choose the same kind of person over and over - even if that is not apparent at first - until you heal the underlying issues that led you to choose this person in the first place.

All of us put out a frequency that comes from our level of woundedness or health. If you tune your radio dial to a particular station, you will get that station because you have tuned into the frequency of that station. Likewise, your frequency attracts a like frequency. Woundedness has a low frequency, while emotional health has a high frequency. A loving person with a high frequency will not be attracted to a controlling or needy person with a low frequency.

If you want to attract a loving and caring person, then you first need to become that person yourself.

Now somehow, this car IS mine. It's perhaps already built, and is waiting for me in some yard somewhere. Or perhaps it's in a showroom, or the factory, or it's still sheet metal and parts, or maybe yet to be smelted or pulled out of the ground as ore. Some of its components may exist, already, and are in some bins somewhere, waiting to be put together. Who knows?

But it's my car. And at some point we will meet. That is decided. I have chosen a new Ford Mustang convertible as my first new car, using the power of The Secret. This is certain.

At some point, I may "order" something like a BMW. Who knows? But now, it's a Mustang, and that's for certain. My focus is on the Mustang, in red, convertible, with a few extras as stated. New. Well, what the hell...

Today is August 27th 2007. Let's see how long it takes before I get in the car, start it up, and drive it, playing some nice music with the hood down.

I was just thinking how certain I was of getting my first acting job. I was so focussed on it, and I so wanted it, I felt it clearly - even before I'd auditioned - that I was doing the job. And I did.

Prosperity Consciousness: The Six Metaphysical Laws Of Prosperity

1. The Metaphysical Law of Human Radiation recognizes that each person is basically a powerful energy source that radiates a karma of thoughts and feelings, emotions or "vibes," if you will. In a philosophical way, we are both living magnets and power sources of human energy--a yin and yang in oriental thinking. This law teaches us that as we radiate out our unique energy, we attract into our lives those people and circumstances that are in tune with our unique thoughts. You attract to yourself what you radiate out from yourself, whether it is positive or negative. People of a similar mind tend to group together. Your close friends probably think much like you do. They have become your close friends because of this metaphysical law of human radiation. It confirms the old adage that birds of a feather flock together. Others immediately recognize fundamentally good people because of the aura they cast. They easily attract friends. People instinctively trust them. This occurs by the metaphysical Law of Human Attraction. Those who have few or no friends also operate under the Law of Attraction. Somehow the true natures of people shine through and others instinctively know who they really are inside.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT AND YOU BECOME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT

For years you have heard that you are what you eat. It is true, but did you know that you become what you think about all the time? This is equally true. There is another maxim that guides your life: what you radiate out, you also attract to yourself. Stated differently, what a person thinks about all the time is attracted into his life. Show me someone who is passionately consumed with a belief or concept, who lives, breathes, and eats a particular idea, and I will show you a person who will have that preoccupation become a reality in his or her life.

With this metaphysical law of attraction in mind, obviously you want to be very positive and optimistic in your outlook so that you will attract those developments in your life. This is much more than just "positive thinking," although there is certainly nothing wrong with positive thinking. Success visualization is a process that changes our lives by creating images in our minds that ultimately become reality. These images are first just anticipation, but they quickly become an expectation, and finally an intrinsic belief. Over time you "know" that this will become a reality in your life. Since you are creating your life every day, you are also creating your future.

2. The Metaphysical Law of Self-Determination is an acknowledgment of the role of personal responsibility. It is your "self" that determines your fate and nothing and no one else. The self-determination you feel within gives you the strength to overcome all the obstacles you will face in life. You must take personal responsibility for your actions and the results in your life. Your "self" must become strong and determined. You always succeed through self-determination.

3. The Metaphysical Law of Continuous Growth reveals that you cannot succeed in life if you stop growing mentally. Personal self-improvement and professional educational growth should be your never-ending quest. To enjoy continued success and prosperity, you must always be learning and striving for improvement. The Metaphysical Law of Continuous Growth is the accepted way of life for truly successful people. Remember, when you stop growing, you are ripe. And when you are ripe, you start to rot. If you are not reading and learning new things regularly, then your brain is withering away. To earn more, you must learn more.

4. The Metaphysical Law of Self-Direction basically dictates that you are happiest and feel the best about yourself and your work to the degree that you are self-directed in your vocational activities and in your personal life. From a vocational standpoint, you must be able to express your creativity and individuality or you become an unhappy robot. If you feel you are controlled by others or by circumstances out of your control, you will find yourself generally unhappy. People want to feel they are self-directed at work, even though they really may not be.

This law was discovered decades ago during the period when factories dominated the U.S. economy. Employees were treated as machines and were not given even the slightest power to vary their activity. Unfortunately, this is still prevalent today in meat cutting plants, assembly lines and other low-level jobs. The factory worker who works on the assembly line has little control over his work and generally feels frustrated and unfulfilled. The secretary who pounds the word processor and routinely files meaningless papers day after day generally feels stifled and dehumanized. The positive aspect of this law has been rediscovered recently by companies like Saturn that advertise that their employees can now stop "the line" by pulling a cord when they see something wrong. To them it is a big deal.

In your personal life it is also important to feel self-directed. Teenagers don't like to be under the strict authority of their parents. Women don't like to be bossed around by their husbands and vice versa. Everyone wants to be in control of his or her own life. The question you must ask yourself is "Who is in control of my life?" To be happy in life, the answer should be "you."

5. Most successful people live The Metaphysical Law of Positive Choices. These people recognize that during each day there are literally hundreds of choices to make, most seemingly small but ultimately important, and with each choice there is a consequence. They recognize that there is a cause and effect in everything they do. Everything in your life today was brought about by the choices you made in the past-everything!

Successful people make careful, thoughtful choices because they know that the events they cause create their future. They tend to be pro-active people who plan ahead and work toward predetermined goals. They function daily by the logical principle of cause and effect. Thoughtful people recognize that they cause the developments in their lives and are responsible for the results. They work hard and expect positive results.

In contrast, unsuccessful people don't make conscious choices. They believe that everything happens to them by accident and that they have no control over their destinies, when in fact they create their future daily by the choices they make. Unsuccessful people consider themselves victims. They have no long term goals, in fact, no plans beyond the short term. They hope for the best, but make absolutely no plans to make the best happen. The concept of positive choices and cause and effect are foreign to their way of thinking.

6. The Metaphysical Law of Strong Conviction and Positive Expectations mandates that whatever you believe with absolute conviction and confidently expect to happen becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and will become a reality in your life. The two powerful parts of this law are conviction and expectation. They are really the same concept, because if you believe something with absolute conviction, you also expect it to become true. It recognizes the powerful force of your will to succeed.

If you continuously build your convictions about your inevitable success in life, you will instinctively take the appropriate actions that will bring about the results you reverently desire. What we expect to happen, happens. Very successful people in life live by this law. They anticipate and expect success, and they achieve it. These positive expectations have a powerful impact on our relationships and on the events in our lives, such that the expectations really do influence the outcome.

Worry is negative goal setting and negative expectations. It is thinking about, talking about and imagining exactly what we don't want to happen. It is the exact opposite of the Metaphysical Law of Strong Conviction and Positive Expectations. To be successful, become obedient to the Law of Positive Expectations and visualize success daily in everything you do.

Feeling pissy

Well I must confess I've been feeling pissy and lonely, impatient and unhappy of late.

Yes, I've been feeling motivated, and I've got a lot fitter, what with the daily run, walking, yoga, swimming, weights, crunches, and the healthy eating.

But I've been wanting for something or, to be more correct, someone.

I miss companionship, and I miss it very much. I do so want to be with someone, and that probably has been pushing the fuckers away. I mean, nothing's worse than a desperate, needy person - except, I suppose, a desperate, needy, unattractive person. And it's a fine line between passion and indifference. But I've been unlike my normal self of late.

I've been pushy, impatient, rude, and sometimes even demanding. It's fun, at least in a kind of "what the hell?" way, but it hasn't been getting me any more of what I really want.

I suppose it all started with the breakup of the numbnuts girlfriend of three gloriously non eventful months, Julia. I'd "fallen in love with her" (how many more times do I have to realise that's a very silly thing to do, and a worse thing to say?) and, of course, it all went wrong. I'd given my power away, and that was that. No going back.

So where does that leave me on the manifestation front? Well, I guess I'm asking for a lot. I mean, I am asking for a lot. I'm asking to be a working actor who's not only well paid, but also who's confident enough in just about everything he does that his life runs absolutely brilliantly all the time.

What I am, I'm deciding, is a BABE MAGNET. But the thing is I can't really see that being pissy is going to help me land a babe, and niether is it going to enable me to keep one.

Oh what the fuck?

Que sera, sera. But I can influence que sera, with my attitude and beliefs. And I know that the cooler I am, the more likely I am to get who and what I am, too.

I gotta admit I didn't do so fabulously when I was happy. But then, was I really happy?

Well, I've manifested more confidence. I've manifested some auditions, and another film.

I've manifested friendship, nice birthday presents, love, and intimacy.

So that can't be bad.

I've manifested a healthier body, too. And some yummy food.

Oh and I manifested a beautiful woman for a while, as well.

And some special moments, for which I am very grateful indeed.

I am grateful for these days of my life. Life is incredible, and an amazingly wonderful gift.

It truly is a miracle that I exist.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

Well, I've been working on this one a little while, but it really is true to say that women aren't attracted to nice guys. They're attracted to considerate, kind, affection, honest, loving men, yes; but no woman worth having is attracted to a man who needs to be seen as a "nice guy" and/or seeks the approval of others. Any man who needs to be seen as nice or have any other attachment to image has a problem. And if his woman is blind to that, is she any good at all?

So part of my manifestation of The Great Love Affair/Relationship is to set standards for what I want from a relationship, and the kind of woman who is in my life.

My woman certainly has self respect, and cares about herself. And she cares for and respects me, too. She'll have dealt with shit from previous relationships - it's not my job to be everything the last guy wasn't and more. It's only my job to be imperfect me. It's each of our jobs, though, to be there for each other when we are tthere, and to not look around at others all the time, or simply not be 100% present when physically present. I don't look around at other people when I'm talking to someone, and I don't expect any woman to, either.

At the end of the day, a woman is the icing on the cake. She isn't that cake itself.

And something else - no more "girl friends". Been there, done that one...

Jack is a born again bastard. At least, if he needs to be.

Gratefulness

One aspect of manifestation is that I know I need to be grateful - and am grateful - for what I have and what I've received in my life. I'm very grateful.

So I thought I'd list some of the many things I'm grateful for, right here.

I'm grateful for my home, for love, for my senses, my money, my computer. I'm grateful for my life. I'm grateful for my cat, Eric, and my past cats and pets. I'm grateful for my friends: past, present and future. I'm grateful for this nice day. I'm grateful to the elements: air, the sun and fire, water, of which my body is 80%, and this planet which sustains me. I'm grateful for my car which gets me around, and the convertible roof which lets me experience the wonderful weather and nature. I'm grateful to nature, too, for all the wonders of the stars, moon, and everything on Earth that's natural and beautiful.

I'm grateful for my health.

I'm grateful for music: music I listen to, and music that I play. Classical, jazz, blues, funk, modern, progressive, piano, rock...all the different genres of music there are in the universe.

I'm grateful for the A/C that cools me, and the heater that warms me.

I'm grateful for my clothes: my nice leather jacket, my shoes, my nice clothes, suits, shirts, and all I've had in my life, clothes-wise. Did I mention shoes?
Oh, and hats!

I'm grateful for laughter. The laughter of friends, and the laughter I've had, courtesy of many people. For the healing laughter of giggles and gut bursting hilarity. I'm grateful to comedians like Robin Williams and Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and all the current great funny people, funny writers, and funny friends I have. I'm grateful for the good times I've had that have been times of laughter and joy.

I'm grateful for my credit cards, and my bank account, and my investments and savings, even though they may be in the past. They were good to have, and are good to have. It's nice having good credit, and good savings, and investments, and cash, and a nice income. I'm grateful for the experience of having income from all the sources I've received and continue to receive it.

I'm grateful for my intelligence. I am intelligent, and it's a gift. I'm grateful for my nous, my savvy, my resourcefulness, my cleverness, my wit, my education, my reading, my problem solving skills, and my creativity. I'm grateful for all the insights and epiphanies I've had and continue to have. I'm grateful for my intuition, my emotional intelligence, my sense of timing, my imagination, my powers of visualization and manifestation.

I'm grateful for my body. For my height, weight, proportion, looks, eyes, fitness, health, vitality, nervous system, muscular/skeletal system, digestion, heart, kidneys, lungs, and every wonderful, miraculous organ in my body. I'm grateful for my brain, skin, motor functions, senses, limbs, face and everything about my body. Oh, and my dick, for which I am eternally grateful. My dick has given me great pleasure, as it has others. My dick is a universal pleasure giver. Thanks, Dick!

I'm grateful to and for my friends: past, current and future. And that includes all the people who's names I haven't even known, who have helped and befriended me, listened to me, supported me, and cared about me. That means I'm grateful, too, to all the communities I'm part of and have been part of. I won't name them here, because it would mean a list so long I wouldn't know where to stop.

I'm grateful to my family. For without my family I wouldn't exist at all.

I'm grateful for my stuff: my furniture, and all the things I own that are in my apartment and outside it. I'm grateful for my car and everything that's in it. I'm grateful for its reliability, its convertible top, and its V6 engine. I'm grateful for all my books, guitars, music, sound and electronic equipment.

I'm grateful for my freedom.

I'm grateful for living in America, which is still a great place.

Did I mention I'm grateful for my apartment?

I'm grateful for my lovers. All the girlfriends in the past: for their love, for the sex, for the fun, the laughter, the giggles, the intimacy, the beautiful, exquisite moments; for the experiences, for the companionship, for the "two ships passing in the night" events. I'm grateful to you all, even if I, erm... forget your names...

And I'm grateful for the ones that got away. For you are the mysteries, and the sources of fantasy, and stories of nearly-was, and you still are part of my story.

Did I mention I'm grateful for comedy? That must be covered by comedians and funny people. Well, I'll say it again: I'm grateful for comedy.

I'm grateful for the acting work I've been getting lately, and for all the acting work I've had, including the commercials, TV, film, theatre and print work. I'm grateful I've been able to do it. And I'm grateful for what's coming up, as well. I'm grateful for the fact that I'm a good actor, too. Whatever intelligence or ability I've inherited or been taught or acquired by luck or whatever, I'm grateful for.

I'm grateful for the work I had at the ACC, directing and writing. That aspect of it was really good.

Very grateful for the camcorder. And any money I've inherited or received as gifts. All the money I've received over the years, in fact. Very, VERY grateful for it!

I'm grateful for my eyes, my looks, my intelligence, my experiences, my voice, my singing voice, my books, all the food I get to eat which, had I been born in another part of the world, I might never have had the opportunity to enjoy. Same with the fresh water I get to drink, and all the things like water purifiers and juices and smoothies and so on. I'm grateful for ice in my drinks. (Thinking about the scene in "Castaway" here)

I'm grateful for the fact that I've flown in aeroplanes. How amazing they are! And to consider that throughout history, nobody flew until the 20th century. When my parents were born, aircraft had been around just a few years. Now we fly through the sky, higher and faster than any bird.

I'm grateful for my SCUBA diving adventures. What a magnificent experience each of them has been. Again, before SCUBA in the 1960s, it was incredibly difficult to be underwater and see the amazing corals, fish, and life under the sea. Now I can swim in the gorgeous Caribbean, and have done! I'm so grateful for those experiences.

Same with skydiving. I've skydived, and I'm grateful for the people that showed me how, and for the people that made the parachutes, planes and so on.

And the internet! How can I not be grateful for it? It's so amazing that I can communicate with people all over the world so cheaply and easily, and bank online, and buy stuff, and send stuff, and write, and see things, and use webcams and be heard and seen and read newspapers and watch films and listen to music and radio and, and, and...

Then there's the phone. I have a mobile phone! I can talk to people as I drive, or as I'm on the beach, or in the forest, or out for a walk, or in an emergency. Isn't that something?

And there's the TV, and films, and DVDs and videos and all the entertainment.

And art! How wonderful it is to see art. How grateful I am that it inspires me so.

Same with music, and dance. Dance! How wonderful dance is! Tango and Salsa and Merengue and Cha Cha Cha and ballet and modern dance and tap and swing and smooching dances and slow dances and funky dancing and all of it.

And theatre. Theatre has meant so much to me.

My rocking chairs, too. It's so nice to sit on rocking chairs.

Sunsets! Did I mention I appreciate sunsets? Same with the sky, that can be so beautiful.

Have to mention the lovely moment today when I saw a deer in the field by where I live; and the beautiful flowers growing. And the fun with Bongo the dog.

Beauty. My life is full of beauty, and I'm grateful for it!

Colour. I have eyes, and I can see. And I can see colour. All the colours of the rainbow. The whole spectrum is there for me. All the blues, and the greens, and the yellows and reds and purples and oranges and violets and in between colours and pastels and beiges and whites and blacks and greys. So many colours and hues and shades!

And I'm grateful to The Universe/God/The Creator for my imagination.

And for Grace.

And for sex.

I mentioned sex, right? Did I mention sex? I'm grateful for it! SOOOOOO grateful for it!

AND I'm grateful for intimacy. How wonderful, how beautiful, how exquisite, intimacy is.

Then there's beaches, forests, smells, gourmet cooking, excitement, feelings, good feelings especially; there's mystery, being, wonder, inspiration, adventure, opportunities...and did I mention all the kinds of music?

And tea, coffee, orange juice, The Exquisite, elegance, excellence, my thoughts, stuff I may have but have been taking for granted, medical assistance, people who have helped me, the kindness of strangers, generosity, compassion.

There's Santa Fe, Austin, London. Brighton, Seville, Gothenburg, New York, and all the other places I've lived in or been to, or could have gone to.

I'm grateful for my skills, for drama school, for my neighbours, for birdsong, for nature, for coral reefs, the ocean, the psychological support I've received, the work I've done on myself, and for the wonderful, jammy jobs I've had.

And I'm grateful to me for me.

Recent manifestations!

Well, I can honestly say that manifestation has been working for me!

Today alone I manifested parts in two films! Who knows what other goodies I manifested, but that I'm not aware of yet?

I manifest great work because I'm a damn good actor, I'm very castable, I'm very professional, and a lot of people know that I am.

Achievable goals

I realise that one important aspect of manifesting is not just making goals achievable, but expanding the boundaries of achievability.

That means becoming comfortable with achieving, and not being too surprised about achievement. It means being grateful for it, yes, but there needs to be a certain expectation involved. Expectation leads to motivation and decision, which are essential components in achievement.

This seems to be the same with manifestation. When I know I can manifest something small, such as a cup of coffee or a nice moment, I realise I can achieve more. But I know I have to commit, and press onward with the goals in mind.

I was journaling today and I suddenly became aware of how the things I manifest come into being. The process is rather like the growth of any living thing: conception, gestation, birth, growth, and maturity. An idea is the seed, visualisation and planning is the gestation, starting a project is birth, then the process of creation is growth. When something's finished is when it's mature.

I noticed how the things I'm manifesting now are somehow "inside me", in that there's some kind of magnetic, energetic business going on, viscerally, that's drawing the projects, things, and people to me.

Fascinating stuff.

Something to start with. A Ford Mustang convertible isn't the best, fastest, classiest, nor most expensive convertible imaginable, but it's a good start. It fits in with an image I think is me.

And that brings up some interesting questions. Who set my limits? And my tastes? When, and how did I decide that I was a "Ford Mustang" kinda guy, and not a Ferrari kinda guy? I mean, I'd be very happy if I was given a Ferrari, but do I really expect to own one one day? That's something that's wildly beyond my expectations.

But why is it?

I realise that we manifest what we think we deserve. And this, again, is a very interesting subject. How can I adjust how I feel about what I deserve? And how much will this influence how and what I manifest for myself? I'll explore that with some more logic.

I was working at a house yesterday where a really nice Mercedes sports sat in the garage. I commented to a friend that such things so often go to people who don't really deserve them - meaning, in fact, that they'll often go to people who won't use them to their fullest. A nice car will often sit in a driveway or garage rather than be out on the road, taking hair pin bends in Southern Spain, or buzzing across Arizona on a balmy day. I like the idea of cars being used to their fullest - in fact, I like the idea of anything being used to its fullest. Things have lives, just as people, animals and plants do. I like to think an instrument will play some great songs, or a camera will be destined to take great pictures, and so on. I like the idea of destiny in things. My old MG Midget was an example. I loved that car, and it served me well. It didn't look much, but it went all over Europe, and I had some really good times in it. This is the way I've thought about a lot of the stuff I've had. I've got to know it intimately. Cars I've known everything about, so that I could do any repair to them, almost blindfold. I love the idea of working on cars myself. So I'd rather like a home with a garage.

Now one of the problems I think I face at the moment is believing I can actually achieve the dreams I dream now, at the age I am. I mean, it's as though there's a time contraint. Also, I'm aware of conflicts. I want to be an actor, and I want to live by the ocean. But I also don't want to live in a huge city. And I don't want large overheads, financially. I know that I need to have congruence in my values, and in what I'm attracting to me.

I guess that's why MONEY answers these things rather well. With a millions dollars, say, where I live wouldn't be an issue. I'd most likely find an apartment somewhere on the west coast, buy myself my convertible, and go from there.

Is it possible for me to manifest a million dollars, out of the blue? Well, it is, yes. How easy it is to do so is another question.

This actress is the Indian babe of the moment. Beautiful, looks kind, nice, lovely, sexy, everything. Probably a pain in the arse to live with, but this is a starting point as far as relationship partner goes. It would be nice to have someone who has the self respect, wit, charm, looks, grace, and beauty of The Ideal - so long as I'm the same, of course. I'd want to have similar characterstics myself. As I know that like attracts like, I realise this means a decision to be that person is essential if I'm to attract her as a mate. I guess, too, she'd need to be a bit older...

There's a line in a play called "East" by Steven Berkoff. The character sees a beautiful woman on a bus and he realises that he doesn't stand any chance of having her. He says "We get what we are". And this is perhaps something that's very true about manifestation. Ultimately, we get what we think we deserve. And that's why envy gets in the way of receiving. How can we possibly become what we resent? If we have the view that rich people are bad, the subconscious mind will never allow us to be rich. And that applies to healthy, to successful, or anything else.

Visualization

Next, it's my conscious mind's task to instruct my subconcious mind about my reality, and that I can do by using classic visualization techniques. If I take, for example, the affirmation "I am loved", I can visualize myself being loved in a variety of ways, and enjoying accepting love and support from all directions. I can visualize myself receiving it from friends, family, co-workers, strangers and lovers. I can visualize myself receiving - and giving - love from every direction. I can visualize myself joyfully receiving nurturing and supportive help, attention, and positive strokes from all quarters.

Same with respect. I can visualize myself in situations where people will be respecting me and my boundaries. Where everyone knows to treat me as an adult, and use adult language, gestures and behaviour with me and around me. They know that I have self respect, and expect respect, too. Also, I offer respect, and have respect. Respect is important. I show it, and am shown it.

Allies: I see my business and play partners. People I do good business with; creative partners, people with like minds regarding issues and topics, objectives, goals, values, projects and such. I see myself harmoniously relating to all manner of intelligent, like minded, poweful people.

As far as power goes, I can visualize myself enjoying the freedom and creativity that power brings. I can vizualise my potency, my energy, and see myself in situations where I'm plainly able to do what I need to do for things to happen. I can visualise myself having already achieved great deeds, and enjoying the "afterglow" (ahem!)

I can visualize myself acquiring money. Tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars, Pounds, Yen, Deutschmarks, Euros. I can see myself receiving money in cash and by check, by wire transfer, by Paypal, through agents, because of work I've done, work I'm doing, stuff I've said or sold or endorsed, films I've been in, commercials I've been in, art I've done, photos I've taken, films I've made, projects I've worked on or are working on.

I can see the money being mine, and my spending it, investing it, using it wisely but decisively. I can see myself in business, in partnerships, doing deals, making agreements, making contracts, sealing deals, acquiring assets, making my money work for myself and giving great value for money at the same time. I can see myself doing work of great value, and getting good money for what I do. I can see myself appreciating what I'm giving in return for the good money I'm getting.

I attract money. I am, as the saying goes, a money magnet.

I already have...

Understanding that "What I want" makes the mind separate the self from the desired object ( think about it: when you picture yourself wanting something, it means you imagine yourself separate from it, rather than actually having it)

So I amend the previous phrase "What I want" to "I already have". This serves a number of purposes. One, it makes the mind relax. Knowing I already have something means that I can already enjoy it, too. It means I'm more confident. When I'm confident, I'm more attractive, and so the cycle continues.

I've realised something very important, too: that being jealous or envious of a person because of what they have only ever makes a person further away from those values he or she desires. After all, how can someone become the kind of person that they resent, or have the advantages of someone they resent? And so we must respect those people who have the attributes and values we want incorporated into our own lives, and not resent people for having what we ourselves don't have.

So, to turn that into a positive statement: I respect and admire people who have success and wealth, health and happiness, power and money and love. These are attributes and values I share with them. I admire successful, happy, creative and wealthy people, and I identify with them. I resonate with them, because I'm successful, happy, creative and wealthy myself!

So, to take the affirmations from the previous post, and make some adjustments:

I am LOVED
I am RESPECTED
I know great FRIENDSHIP
I have great and powerful ALLIES
I am POWERFUL
I have pots of MONEY
I'm surrounded by BEAUTY, and am beautiful myself.
I am very STRONG
I have great VITALITY
I'm rather HEALTHY indeed!
I'm a very WEALTHY fellow!

What I want.

Most importantly, I focus on what I WANT, rather than what I don't.

To be more precise, then: I FOCUS ON WHAT I WANT. That's rule one.

So that means LOVE

That means RESPECT

That means FRIENDSHIP

That means ALLIES

That means POWER

That means MONEY

That means BEAUTY

That means STRENGTH

That means VITALITY

That means HEALTH

That means WEALTH

just for starters...

So it would be a good idea, perhaps, to give these things, these values, SYMBOLS. These symbols could be photos, drawings, or anything else. I'll explore what there is.

Throughout this blog I'll be posting images that reflect the values, events and stuff that I have, that I've attracted to me, and I'm attracting to me. I know that I ALREADY HAVE A GREAT LIFE. I know I ALREADY HAVE WEALTH AND HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

AND I'm thankful for these things.

I realise how important it is for me to be grateful the The Universe for what I have NOW. I'm VERY GRATEFUL FOR WHAT I HAVE NOW!

The first entry: manifestation is real!

Manifestation works. This much I know. What's interesting, and where the challenge can lie, is knowing exactly what to focus on, and how to direct the mind, to clearly manifest what we want. This is MY manifestation blog, so get your own if you want to manifest stuff.

As the movie "The Secret" states, we get what we think about. What this blog is for, apart from my own, private writings, is to "put my thoughts out to the universe" in order to attract what I want, and be clear about what I want, and be clear that what I want is good for me and others.

I've learned so much in recent years about the nature of manifesting, and of the amazing power of MY mind - or the mind that I have access to. I believe mind may be something far greater that we're aware of.

So not only is this blog about what I want to manifest, but, like my "Jack's making a movie" blog, it's an ongoing study of my process of manifesting stuff, events, people, places, lifestyle, work, play, love, money, and everything else that's wonderful, exciting, good, excellent, great, beautiful, and generally desirable.

So I'll be posting links, photos, thoughts, affirmations, and all kinds of jolly good, healthy stuff here.

I know how the mind works. I now understand something of the subconscious mind, and belief systems, and how they're either our allies or our enemies. I understand how I've been imprisoned by old belief systems, along with many, many people. And I understand the process by which I - and anyone else - can escape from them and live a rich, full life.

I'll be using the present tense for my affirmations. Because, in reality, there is ONLY NOW. And the subconscious mind only understands now. The way to bring oneself into the present - which is, as the saying goes, "a gift" - is to define one's life NOW and, by so doing, make an instant karmic adjustment.

As The Beatles said "Karma is instant". It is. All you have to do is decide who and what you are, and then it's done. Then, one attracts everything to affirm that reality.

I am a magnet. It's up to ME who and what I magnetise! And who and what I repel.
